Major highways seem to be clean now but Ive only been on the road between Dryden and Quincy. The Squilchuck road is clean except at intersections. From Squilchuck road to Wenatchee Heights is mostly clean. Halverson Canyon is showing more dirt and sand than asphalt. Number Two Canyon has been swept but is still a little dirty in places. North Dryden Rd. is mostly clean but watch for dirt and sand in places. Stine Hill Rd. between Dryden and Cashmere is clean. (2/29/08) ……….. Sleepy Hollow Rd. is fairly clean. A little dirt and sand in places but not a real hazard if you keep your eyes peeled for it. Not much worse than summertime really.(3/9/08) ……… Peshastin North road is fairly clean (3/13/08) ……..The Haverson / Hampton Rd. loop has been swept. There is still dirt residue that one sweeping won’t get but with a little caution it is ready to ride. (3/16/08) ………… The Chumstick Beaver Hill road is in great shape – swept and ready to ride. The Chewawa River loop road is a little rougher and should be ridden with caution but is still a fun road. Tumwater Canyon is fine (4/5/08) …….

Mc Neal Canyon, east of Chelan, the uneven paved road from the Columbia River toward Mansfield is THE standard test run for any road bike for us in Chelan. Testing the flex(or lack of) frame, suspension, handling and power of any motorcycle. The first place to ride your new,old or your friends motorcycle is proving it’s worth now for even the dirt bikes. Todays ride on the new Aprilia SXV was given an extra bonus of graded dirt sections due to the construction designed to remove the greatest assets to the motorcycle test course. Sand on the corners of the old road coupled with the new housing development freshly paved windy access road blends all the challenges for the dual sport rider. Be CAREFUL !!
Hey Farmer
Have they started the dreaded “improvements” to McNeal yet? This is a horrible travesty to ruin our best road like they did to Badger Mountain Road.
In progress now. The flag lady gets close to warn of danger.
The Union Valley road into the mountains south of Chelan offers 14 miles for now , up to the snow line. Paved for about 4-5 miles the balance is graded dirt surface. Some muddy spots, but fairly smooth.
The twisty back roads between Manson and Chelan, Boyd Loop, Winesap Rd, Cooper Gulch to Echo Valley are snow free and have been swept of sand. They got new asphalt last year and are in great shape.
I will take full responsibility for the unused sunshine piling upon the ground. I put the snowmobiles away last week, got the tractors out of the barn and attached to equipment in the field. I had made plans to ride a MOTORCYCLE saturday.
